Q1 Yes new administrators should parallel new teacher standards. Principals need to know what new technology is available and how to use it. Otherwise their ability to communicate at best may be ineffective.
Q2 I believe the current standards are adequate
Q3 After reading the current standards, I believe administrators that can implement these are proficient

You're right in that communication between administration and staff will end up being compromised if the administration can't keep up with the rest of the folks. I hadn't quite thought about it that way. That's something to keep in mind!
I wonder if more in-depth comments about the issue would have elicited more responses from the rest of us.
I don't know that as a new administrator I would know the new technology that's available or how to use it! I am definitely a digital immigrant!!! Without the support of my administrator, I would probably have remained in the dark ages. She kept requiring documentation of technology uses in lesson plans, and required that everyone use email to communicate. I think the fact that she used technology and set a goal to purchase technology for each classroom, it helped the staff buy into the use of technology throughout the school.
